Hong Kong Book Fair 2004
July 20, 2004

The Hong Kong Book Fair 2004 will be held from 21 to 26 July at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre. With the aim of Reading to Enrich Your Life, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC), in collaboration with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, will organise two sharing sessions for the public to participate.

The two sharing sessions provide an opportunity for authors, commentators and readers to share the experience of writing and appreciation. The speakers include Wang Hui (汪暉) and Xiao Fan (小飯) from China, Zhang Da Chun (張大春) and Shui Quan (水泉) from Taiwan, Xiao Si (小思), Ma Ka Fai (馬家輝) and Shuang Jing (霜靜) from Hong Kong. The sessions are free of charge and will be conducted in Putonghua. Simultaneous interpretation of Cantonese is available.

Also on the activity list is the Critics' Recommendation jointly organised by the ADC and the Trade Development Council. In its fourth consecutive year, the ADC Book Fair Selection Panel has selected 40 sets of newly published books for the critics to comment. Based on the quality, content, theme, publication format and creativity, these 40 sets of book are selected from more than 300 choices. Among the recommended list, there are ten sets of children's book.

The ADC exhibition booth is located at 1A30-34, 1B29-33 of Hall 1A. Publications of literary arts, dance, film and visual arts, VCD and posters supported by the ADC are available for sale.
