ADC Appoints New Chief Executive

ADC's newly appointed Chief Executive Mr Jonathan YuThe Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC) announced today that Mr Jonathan Yu is appointed as the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council with immediate effect.

Mr Jonathan Yu has ample experience in public administration, strategic planning and management. He was the former Operations Director of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation. First joined the KCRC in 1982, Mr Yu has extensive involvement in areas such as corporate relations, organisation development, marketing and planning, and political and community relations. He was the Director of Light Rail between 1989 and 2003 before becoming Director, Operations.

In the past 20 years, Mr Yu has also participated actively in community services, serving on a number of Government advisory committees, professional, charitable and community organisations as well as supporting the developmental work of arts groups. He is an unofficial Justices of the Peace and a member of the Hospital Governing Committee of Tuen Mun Hospital.

Mr F K Ma, Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, welcomed Mr Yu’s appointment as Chief Executive of the Council. “Mr Yu’s wide-ranging management experience and his strong community network are definitely valuable assets to the Council,” he said.

The appointment of the Chief Executive has undergone an open and scrupulous recruitment process. A Selection Panel is set up to select the most suitable candidate for the job. Mr Yu’s appointment is unanimously agreed by the full Council on the recommendation of the Selection Panel.
