Mobile Art Expedition
July 6, 2005

Following the successful launch of the "Mobile Art Gallery" (2002) and "Gallery Ferry" (2003), the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in collaboration with the Art Promotion Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Citybus Limited, New World First Bus Services Ltd and New World First Ferry Services Ltd organises a new partnership project "Mobile Art Expedition".

With the theme of "Diary of Hong Kong", you are cordially invited to present Hong Kong in two-dimensional creations from your own perspective. All Hong Kong residents aged 16 or above are welcome to take part in this competition either on an individual or a group basis. The competition is divided into two categories: A and B. Contestants/groups can take part in both categories and submit one set of artwork (that is either in two single pieces or a series of two creations) in each category. For details, please refer to the Regulations and Conditions of the competition.

Winning entries of Category A will be reproduced and displayed in bus compartments while those of Category B will be in Pier 5, Central to enable the general public for appreciation during their journey. The judging panel, formed by the organisers, will select 27 sets of entries (54 pieces) from category A and 14 entries from category B. Each winning contestant/group will be awarded HK$4,000 in cash.

Entry forms and details are now available at the ADC Administration Office, the Citybus Customer Service Centre at the Central (Exchange Square) Bus Terminus, the New World First Bus Customer Service Centre at Admiralty (East) Bus Terminus, the New World First Ferry Customer Service Centre at  Pier 6 Central, the New World First Ferry Octopus Service Centre at Pier 5 & 6 Central and the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre at 7A Kennedy Road, Central. The information can also be downloaded from the following websites: www.hkadc.org.hk, www.lcsd.gov.hk/apo/, www.citybus.com.hk, www.nwfb.com.hk or www.nwff.com.hk. Completed entry forms and information of artwork should be submitted to the ADC Administration Office before 6:30 pm, 17 August 2005 (Wednesday). Late submission will not be accepted.
