The Hong Kong Arts Development Council now invites eligible artists and arts groups to submit proposals on "Audience Development Pilot Project", which aims at encouraging and supporting local artists/arts groups to design and implement innovative audience development plans, record and share their experience with local arts community.
The objective of the project is to enhance artists'/arts groups' knowledge and skills in marketing and promotion as well as resources exploration and partnership building. They are also encouraged to expand and diversify audience groups, eliminate factors discouraging audience's participation, and explore new venues for exhibition and performance.
The collaborating artists/arts groups supported by the ADC have to put their innovative audience development plans into practice, record the whole process, and compile reports analysing the effectiveness of the projects. They have to arrange sharing sessions, which serves as a platform for local arts practitioners/arts groups to communicate, exchange experience and views on audience development. The projects can cover various artforms (e.g. drama, dance, music, visual arts, etc.) and generally last for one year.
Interested parties can obtain application guidelines and forms from the ADC Administration Office at 22/F, 181 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong during office hours, or download them from the ADC's web site. The proposal and completed application form must be deposited in the collection box located at the above address on or before 6:30pm, Friday, 26 August 2005..
