Don't want to be a lonely writer/reader? You can now share your joy with others by participating in the "Write-up Competition for Students".
Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council(ADC) and Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Write-up Competition is one of the fringe activities of the Hong Kong Book Fair 2006, with an aim to enhance students' interests and ability in writing and literature appreciation.
The Competition is categorised into Primary (Primary 4-6), Junior Secondary (Form 1-3) and Senior Secondary (Form 4-7). Students are required to select a book from the recommended booklist or make their own choice for the write-ups. Each category has three top prizes (the champion, first and second runner-ups) and seven merit prizes. Each winner will be awarded with a cash prize and a trophy/certificate. The 20 finalists in the Primary Category are invited to join the Story Telling Session at Hong Kong Book Fair 2006 during which they may have the opportunity to exchange the views of reading and writing with the HKSAR Chief Executive.
Interested students are required to submit a completed application form together with their write-up to the ADC Administration Office, 22/F 181 Queen's Road Central, Hong Kong on or before 6:30 pm, 19 May 2006 (Friday). Please mark "Write-up Competition for Students" on the envelope. Submission by post will only be accepted if postmarked no later than the deadline. Late submission or submission by fax or email are not accepted.
Application forms are now available at the ADC Administration Office, or can be downloaded from the ADC website. For enquiries, please contact Ms Lau Wing Yi at 2820 1062.
