Join the "Mobile Art Gallery 2008" to demonstrate your creativity and imagination on public vehicles!

Following the success of Mobile Art Gallery, Gallery Ferry and Mobile Art Expedition, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC) in collaboration with the Art Promotion Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Citybus Limited and New World First Bus Services Limited organises the "Mobile Art Gallery 2008" Open Competition to extend visual arts dimension to the everyday life of the general public by using bus bodies and bus shelters as platforms for artworks display.

The Competition now calls for submission of two-dimensional artworks under the theme "Olympic Wonders" to coincide with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Selected entries will be reproduced and displayed on bus bodies and at the light box panels of bus shelters for public appreciation.

The competition is categorised into three Artwork Categories: Category A – Light box panels of bus shelters, Category B – Bus body (Side panels) and Category C – Bus body (Whole bus). For Artwork Category A and B, there are two Entry Categories: "Youth" (aged between 15 and 25) and "Open" (aged 26 or above), while Artwork Category C is open for all aged 15 or above. Artworks can be submitted on an individual or a group basis. For specifications, please refer to the "Regulations and Conditions" and the entry forms.

The adjudication panel will select ten entries each (five each from "Open" and "Youth" category) from Artwork Category A and B. Each winning contestant/group will receive a cash prize of HK$4,000. One entry will be selected from Artwork Category C and the winner will receive a cash prize of HK$10,000. Selected artworks will be on display at light box panels of bus shelters and bus bodies around mid-June 2008.

Completed entry forms together with the artwork information should be submitted to the ADC Administration Office before 6:30pm, 3 December 2007 (Monday). Submissions by post will only be accepted if it is postmarked no later than the deadline. Late submission, or submission via fax and email will not be accepted.
