The Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC) welcomed the announcement of the new Council membership by the Home Affairs Bureau yesterday.
Following the official appointment, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council will soon call for its first Council meeting to formulate plans for future development. One of the major tasks of the ADC is to create a favourable environment for local arts development, providing different types of support to local artists and arts organisations. Not only does it need to raise the social acceptance of the arts, but also provide opportunities for the general public to appreciate the beauty of the arts.
Under the leadership of the new Council, the ADC will continue to strive for the betterment of the arts development in Hong Kong. The new Council term will be from 1 January 2008 to 31 December 2010 (full list of the Council as per attached).
Last but not least, special thanks were extended to the former Council members for their guidance and leadership in the past three years.
