The Hong Kong Arts Development Council welcomes the new move of Theatre Ensemble - the formation of PIP Cultural Enterprise, an independent entity without government subvention and believes that Theatre Ensemble has found their right path for future development.

The past 15 years saw the significant achievement of Theatre Ensemble in local drama scene. In 1993, it started receiving support from the Council for Performing Arts (Former ADC) and thereafter, ADC continued its support to Theatre Ensemble through different types of grant including Administrative Grant, One-Year Grant and Three-Year Grant. In 2004, with the funding from the Home Affairs Bureau, Theatre Ensemble in collaboration with the Hong Kong Arts Centre and the ADC explored a new operation mode - "Pleasure-in-Play" that allowed Theatre Ensemble to operate as a resident company at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, with an aim to expand community participation and audience base through education, training, research and development.
